there are several jim hjelm dresses with a nice soft plaid on the skirt and solid tops. they may be helpful for reference.

And does it say Nantucket Plaid?? My FH was born and raised in Nantucket

Oh, I've always loved plaid - I saw a great plaid strapless gown for my BMs - but they really wanted straps. Plus, the colors were bright and I knew I'd look back 15 yrs from now and wonder what I was thinking! LOL

Those swatches are very soft though - very pretty!

I guess plaid is the new 'in' thing. My BM's dresses have just a suttle plaid on the top.
