we had more girls than guys, so we had 1 gm w/ 2 bms (they walked w/ the gm in the middle of the 2 bms)

Re: Uneven bridal party?
I have a MOH and 1 BM and FH just has a bestman...I'm just gonna have the girls on my side and the bestman with FH...I don't think its necessary to have an even number of girls and guys...its not about that..its about having some of the most important people by your side for the big moment.

Re: Uneven bridal party?
6 BMs and 9GMs. This was so much better than just adding in people to even out the numbers!!! We had some people double up walking down the aisle and entering the reception. The photos are great and I doubt htat anyone will look at them and count people.

I'm sorry....let me clarify. I don't just mean doubling up while walking down the aisle. I mean when they are all lined up at the alter, would it be okay to have some guys on the bride's side and vice versa? Everyone will be in black.
oh ok, i get what u're saying... i think it would be fine to be uneven when they're lined up at the alter.

i think it will be fine!! i am not sure how mine will work... lets see.. i have 3 bm, 3 gm but 1 moh='honor attendant' that is my brother so 4 guys, 3 girls. and we thinking of either having 2 friend gm hang out up there. then each bm alone walk down, then a jr bm and jr gm, and then my brother alone. and then everyone will sit in front row except for brother unless they all stay up there but then i will have a guy (my brother) on my side?...hmmm eh i dont think it matters much...

Re: Uneven bridal party?
I had an uneven bridal party like a week before the wedding. It was fine. We had 3 girls and 4 guys. The girls walked single before I walked out, so the guys were already waiting. Then on the way out, the guy that was single, we asked his gf to walk with him. Same with the bridal party dance, his gf got to dance with him. The pictures looked great...you can check out my wedding to see.

Re: Update: Uneven bridal party?
honestly it doesn't matter. I would just make sure they are truly meaningful people. I could have asked 5 more college friends but at then end of the day I picked my 3 oldest friends and my sister and sils. 14 guys can be a lot to handle on the day of! I had an uneven party and I just picked out my album. I only picked out one picture of the entire bridal party and you couldn't even tell.

Re: Update: Uneven bridal party?
to tell you the truth, I LOVE the look of uneven bridal parties...
Your pics will look great...It doesnt matter at all that one side has a few girls and the other side has 14 guys

Re: Update: Uneven bridal party?
No matter how uneven it is your photographer will make it work! So dont stress yourself too much. Just double up, 2 boys with 1 girl and at the altar you an do it however you want. All the boys on FHs side and girls on yours...or you can do vice versa. Have the first set that walk go to your side, the next set go to FHs side and back and forth like that this way it evens out more during the ceremony.
BUt like I said it doesnt matter either way

Re: Update: Uneven bridal party?
I'm in the same situation with 10 and 7 (well 10 men and 7 women, not including juniors and ring bearer and flower girls). I freaked at first too because I didn't want it to be uneven. I realized how important it was to FH to have these people by his side and even more so, couldn't choose who had to go either. we knew that they had to be in it and now really don't care about the numbers. It's a special day and you should have the people who are important to you by your side.

Re: Update: Uneven bridal party?
I read in a magazine that uneven bridal parties are more common now and its fine. Not taboo at all. We are having my brother as a groomsman and mh FH's best man on his side-they will stand at the altar. The girls will walk down alone. I am having 4 including my MOH. We didnt really know anyone else and FH doesn't care. It's fine. Don't worry about it.
