mothers are very weird with their sons, i have noticed this with alot of them. Its almost like they forget they are women sometimes and instead of thinking the way a woman would, its all about their baby...Many of them seem to be sad when their babies are leaving, it probably has alot to do with that

that is exactly it!! It is like since she is the only woman in the house - with FH, FBIL and FFIL - now she just thinks like them!

yeah some are bad, my ex's mother used to forget uhmmm im a woman and she would tell him to put me in my place and thought the women in her sons lives should serve her sons

i'm sorry that your FMIL is not cooperating with you.. but being that her parents and her DH's parents paid for her wedding.. I don't think she understands the stress and all the planning that goes into a wedding... but ignore it. if she wants to look bad on her son's wedding day.. then oh well.

btw, just noticed that LIW did not change the time on threads being posted... it said that it was 3:45pm when you posted this thread. but i'm looking at my cable box and it was'nt even 3pm yet...

Matilde, easier said than done, but at this point in the game I would be up front with her and let her know that her attitude is really upsetting you. And with your personality and being very sensitive (that's not a bad thing ) it won't come off sounding bittchy.... tell her that she can pick a day that is convenient for her and you can make a day out of finding her a dress.... express to her how important it is to you and your FH that she be excited about the wedding and be involved in some of the planning....

sorry that she is acting like a diva. she probably needs more attention from her own son! seems like you're maintaining your cool around her which is good. just scream it off in LIW all the time!

i'm so sorry you have to deal with this ....but i totally understand ...My FH mother is the same ...she wants to wear a leopard print cocktail length dress to our wedding!!! so i feel for ya girlie ....just ask her to go shopping with u ...see what she says
