Re: reality check
WOWZA.....harsh are we??? judge not less ye be judged. What is nothing to you might be a burden to another. I think the ladies come here to vent about whatever...there are certainly no rules on that, petty some might seem but it is still their right. All the best to you in getting that dress sold.

Re: what bug is stuck up your bums?
Did you guys read the original post? Some people were very rude..
I don't know why anyone would think a vendor would sell only one dress in one size..
fanna- I would try a different board- maybe wedding channel or ebay.

Re: what bug is stuck up your bums?
I was not in the original post making comments, however, I'm putting in my 2 cents now.Everyone has the right to what they want to say, and their opinions, I've always said that, so I can't really blame the girls too much.
I think the problem is that this Fanna never posted to chit chat like she claims, all her posts have been regarding selling this dress of hers, which seems to be the specific reason for coming onto LIWeddings. We are not a showcase for 'brides' to come on and sell their unused dresses.
It would have been MUCH different if she were already a member of LIWeddings, then all of a sudden, had to sell her dress, for whatever reason, and mentioned it to us. I'm sure everyone would have been sympathetic.
But you don't come here for the first time, and all you do is solicit your dress, then continue to create new topics trying over and over again.
We don't know her 'circumstance' because she did not tell us. Why would she expect sympathy?
I don't think that is what this board is for.
So Ladies, I think you have every right to voice your opinion on this.

Re: what bug is stuck up your bums?
I was just wondering if liweddings bans vendors from selling stuff on this chatboard.I actually wasn't JUST thnking of Fanna when I asked that.
Being new here, I just wondered.
If this girl keeps attacking everyone like this I dont understand why she can't be banned.
This is getting out of hand

Re: what bug is stuck up your bums?
We have no clue what your circumstances are because you have not told us. All we see is a poster who is so eager to sell her dress and will post several times despite having no answers in the first few instances. That should have given you some clue that the brides here were NOT interested! On the third or fourth instance, you got some good advice from brides - if you don't want to take it, that is your perogative. Selling it on ebay (where you would have to pay to sell it), giving it charity (since you are not as shallow as the rest of us this might be an altruistic option) or dying it black (perhaps you only wear black on Halloween but you are in the minority) are all perfectly good alternatives to continually posting about it. But this boards purpose is not to solicit your wares.Further - if you find the topics discussed on this board to be shallow or in some way not entertaining for you then PLEASE LEAVE. No one has asked for your help or your assessment.

Re: what bug is stuck up your bums?
Fanna- i usually try to stay out of the cattiness that sometimes appears on this board but you never answered any questions.....I just searched your posts to see if people were jumping down your throat for now reason but every post you have made is about selling the dress and now this one. No one is trying to be mean or anything but the people that read these boards just aren't interested in the dress.

Re: what bug is stuck up your bums?
sorry this is LONG...IMHO, both sides have overreacted in this case...fanna did mention 'unfortunate' cirumstances so to tell anyone to dye their dress black and wear it on new year's eve, even if she was just a one-time poster, is very insensitive...NOT that it was done on purpose, however, and at that point fanna should have offered a little more insight into her situation and the reason why she was selling the dress...
also fanna, this board is about weddings and wedding planning...so as shallow as it may seem or be, if you don't like what we talk about, then you shouldn't be on the board....none of us has ever claimed that the purpose of this board is anything more...that's why its called nyc weddings....
finally, nobody selling something on this board should feel that we 'should appreciate' the offer....if anything, we would be doing you a favor by buying it, since this isn't a shopping website...maybe there should be some rules against non-vendors selling on this website???!!!

Re: what bug is stuck up your bums?
First of all Fanna, stop lying trying to deceive us … you have not put any other post than those regarding your dress. If you truly have been in this board, you would know that brides here hate that vendors step in to try to sell their products, some even disguised as brides themselves. Second, don’t say that you never have asked the “shallow” of “this color suits me” question to a friend, because friendship and solidarity are for that too, not only to discuss deep rooted philosophical issues. Then what 9-11 had to do with all this? Nothing! Just because something horrible happened that changed our lives, it does not mean that we have to close our hearts to any type of happiness or some more “shallow” feelings as irony and fun.If you are passing for the terrible moment of calling your wedding off, sorry, but you didn’t handle the dress issue the wisest possible way because this is not a “classifieds board”, neither reacting to the other bride’s comments. Granted some were not too nice, but what you expected when the only posts you have done are about the dress! And don’t lie about that, because we can see in your profile when you joined the chat and what posts you have put. You seem to be hurt because help did not pour to you from this board; first you didn’t explain yourself … and just because you are feeling miserable it does not mean that the world is going to stop only to care for you! All of us have learned that one way or the other, and if we do not speak out we can’t expect that others will read your mind.
Then to close my point, for being someone who says that is in the wedding business you seem not to know about brides at all. Some of us here have worked with wedding related issues as business (like Taralisa and myself) and we don’t go all over the board posting our skills or calling “shallow” other brides. If you search back, some brides have put tiaras, veils or other things for sale when they change their mind … and there was not attack because they were part of the board “community”.
Hope you can move on and reflect … every story has two sides, and you can’t blame only this side.
Good luck,
Elena
