Hey I'm a VA bride getting married in NY too!!!
I know how hard it is to plan a wedding so far away.

Planting Fields is beautiful and they do wedding ceremonies. It's a wonderful place to take photos afterward. They even have wedding ghosts. Seriously, check out the website, it's totally creepy!

And I've never been inside the HIstorical Chapel, but I used to go the pharmacy next to it all the time, and it's adorable. Just the sort of 'church' I would have loved to be married in. I thought about it for a second, but it's far out of our way.

The Historical Chapel is non-denominational, so anyone can get married there and you can make your ceremony as spiritual/non-spiritual as you like it.

EAB Plaza is also a suggestion.

Old Westbury Gardens--call them. There is a mansion on the grounds and you may be able to do the ceremony there.

The Nassau County Museum of Art has formal gardens, rolling lawns and meadows, and a sculpture garden.

The Lighthouse by Robert Moses (my cousin had her ceremony there)

How about checking out some of the colleges in the area?

CW Post may hold ceremonies...I know they do whole receptions. They have a huge campus and it's beautiful.

Also NYIT, which is close-by has the de Seversky Center.

You can try giving them a call...

HAHA! Can you believe we've tried CW Post too? That is FH 's alum. They only have pre-scheduled events in the chapel twice a year and our wedding date is one of them! It falls right after Thanksgiving and right before exams. I guess they are having a 'Pray for passing grades' ceremony! LOL!

I am not familiar with NYIT. Where is that located?


Hahaha--I suggested Post because I'm an alum too and plan on taking pictures there

NYIT is actually right down the road from Post, so it's not far at all--about 5 minutes.

So, of course, when we went there last year to walk around and see the gardens, we had to take a photo like that with me in place of the bride. No ghosts, though, in our shot

I ditto on NYIT with the DeSeversky Center. FH and I are having our ceremony there and I think it is very pretty inside and out.
