yes - i think she should still contribute in any way she can.....if it's financially - then it should be....i mean - the the other poor girls can't expect to pay all that extra...
i think it depends on the situation. If she has the $ then i think she should contriubute whatever it is she can.
I was a MOH in my friends wedding and I pretty much told the other Out of town guests that couldnt attend that they had to contribute. Its not fair to have the others girls pick up the slack.
hmmm...its a tough situation. I think if financially she is able to, she should. But if she's out of state and is already spending alot of $$ on the wedding to come and participate, then its a bit tricky. I think it also depends on the age of a BM- for example, if she's in college and can't come then its rough to ask her to cough up $$ for something when she makes $7/hour at the school bookstore. If she's 30, works a regular job and just can't come because she has other plans then she should contribute.

I don't think she should be expected to pay for the shower at all. It's not necessarily the bm's job, but more whoever wants to pay for it. It's expensive enough to be a bm and to put that additional cost on someone when they can't even participate is almost unfair...JMHO
