Re: Bridal shower advice plz.

well, I would assume that you would ship them after the shower or the wedding yourself.
As a guest, I would not like the idea of sending a gift to the West Coast when you won't be there... the gifts, like it or not, are the 'point' of the shower, that's why showers exist traditionally...

how are you getting the rest of your belongings to the West coast? maybe your shower will be enough in advance that you can send the gifts along with the rest of your stuff?

U-P-S!

You should definitely open your gifts at the shower. Than you'll have to UPS or FEDEx them to your new home.

The other idea is to have everyone mail your gifts to your new home and they can print pictures of the gifts they got you and place them in the cards!

ditto. you're on your own... I wouldn't ask my guests to ship them. Otherwise, just don't register....

Re: Bridal shower advice plz.

my friend from florida had her baby shower here in new york and what everyone did was for example lets say i bought her a stroller.. i bought a gift card in the amount of the stroller and attached a pic of the stroller to the card.. so she knew what to buy with it

it was cute and worked out perfect.

I am originally from Kansas and that is where I will be having my bridal shower. My sister is throwing a 'paper' wedding and telling everyone that I have registered at target so they can get me gift cards.

when you reg. You can always ask the place to have them forwarded to your new address...At my MOH shower they lived in LA. On the invites we placed a card stating that gifts can be forward to the shipping address supplied at the reg store. We also stated that gift cards would be great since they have to get the stuff back to LA.

It actually worked. I mean there were some gifts but they brought them back slowly....

and shipped the rest...

I have the same problem. I have all my stuff in storage. Keep them in the packages, and make sure to get insurance on them if you ship.
