Re: exercise, toning, wt loss

I need lots of advice, I know I can loose weight, motivation is my problem, I work 45-50 hrs a week and when I get home at the end of the day, I am exhausted. I lost on WW, but stopped going.

Ditto to what Kittyke said. I work 7:30-5:00 M-Th in the city, so with the commute that translates to 6:00-7:00 and by the time I'm home the last thing on my mind is exercise.

In any case, I'm open to any advice you may have.

I ditto both ladies!!!! How in the world do people who commute to the city find time to workout?? I don't think the walk from the subway to my office counts as exercise

wow - what a great offer

My biggest area of attention for the next 16 weeks are my upper arms - they are really big. there is some muscle there, but they really irritate me. I do weights 3 x weeks, alternating between chest/tricep, back/bicep, and then legs.
Any advice?

I commute to the city as well. I leave the house at 7:00, and get home between 8:00 and 9:00. I go to the gym either on my lunch break, or right after work in the city. I thought there was no way I could do it, but I have so far for seven years. I was supprised to find how much I can get done on my lunch break. I just eat right after while I work.

I commute to the city. Ijoined Curves because it is a 30 minute workout and it is between my house and the train station- so I go right after I get off the train and am done by 7:15- 7:30. I think once you get in a routine it is not that hard.

If you start to workout, you won't be lazy!! The reason why you are lazy is because you don't go to the gym! One follows the other. JUST DO IT!!

Re: exercise, toning, wt loss

I acutally started 2 weeks ago, my brother is a big fitness freak. He gave me a pep talk 2weeks ago about how just going a 1/2 hr is good for you.

Well off I went and did the half hour but now that Im there I stay about 45 min to a hr 3 times a week. Id like to start weights soon

You know you really feel better, I can sleep better at night.

I think the type of gym you go to also helps, I joined the neighborhood gym and I feel comfortable

Good luck ladies.

You girls ought to check out the Slim Down tab (look up, it's almost in the center, between May and NWR) and help us out over there. We talk about all that stuff.....PS - I lost another lb this week! Total of 8!

i am in pretty good shape-b/c of my job-but would like to tone up a bit---so i have decided to jump rope 500 times in 5 sets of 100 to get me in the exercise mode again! then it willl be that along w/running and light weights!

I need some motivation. I would like to lose between 5-10 pounds and I know once I start exercising regularly, I will easily lose the weight. I just get bored easily with working out. Plus, my sweet tooth is OUT OF CONTROL!!! I have Devil Dogs at lunch and a cupcake on my way home! I just crave sweets.

I commute into the city as well. I work out 6 days a week, 3 w. cardio at the gym. I go during lunch or after work. I also do 3 days of strength training. I use the Buff Brides book as a guide, its great as it is structured for 3 days a week, with different workouts on each day for variety. I am really working the arms since my dress is strapless, and have seen great results. I wanted to lose 15 lbs, and have lost about 7 already. More importantly, I have toned and tightened-my clothes fit so much better and I have a lot more energy. Not to mention how happy FH is w. the results

Believe me, if I can do it anyone can. If you work out even a few times a week, you can eat well and still lose and reshape your body.

I've been working out all my life.. either sports, dance, or otherwise.. now I just basically have a regular routine that I stick to and I'm happy with that has worked!

If anyone works out at Syngery in Levittown, I'd love to work out with ya!
