I'm getting married on the site but we extended our cocktail hour by and additional half hour so we could be there to mingle and eat, eat, eat.

Re: Cocktail Hour
We have 3 hours between the two. We will attend at least half of the cocktail hour.

Re: Cocktail Hour
We are going to ours. We are having pictures done before the ceremony, so then we can enjoy the rest of the day!

Re: Cocktail Hour
We are going to ours. Our church starts at 2 p.m., we figure by the time we leave it should be about 3:30. An hour or so to get there, so it should be about 4:30 - 4:45. We are having a pre-cocktail hour being served at 5:30 and cocktail hour at 6 p.m. So we will have plenty of time to take pictures and join our whole cocktail hour.

Re: Cocktail Hour
Our cocktail hour will be right after the ceremony since we're getting married at the reception site. We will be at our cocktail hour to mingle and hang out with our guests.

Re: Cocktail Hour
Our ceremony is at 1:30; cocktail hour not until 6. Both sets of parents are hosting little events at their house. Since most guests are local, I'm assuming most people will go to the church casual and then go home in between and change. We will definitely be at the cocktail hour - that's the best food

Re: Cocktail Hour
See if the hall can have a pre-cocktail hour. I am having a pre-cocktail hour where they will serve coffee, cookies, etc. a 1/2 hour - an hour before cocktail hour.

Re: Cocktail Hour
We are going to the cocktail hour, but we are gettig pictures done before the ceremony which is at the hall.
I am paying too much money to miss out on the best part of the wedding.

Re: Cocktail Hour
I made it clear I wanted to be there. I made most of it, I think I missed the first 15 mins.

Re: Cocktail Hour
I did not attend my cocktail hour because I wanted to build up some excitement for the introductions. Looking back now, I think the bride & groom should because:
1) You miss out on some really good food 2) You can greet everyone there and have more time to mingle & dance at the reception.
Best of luck to you.

Re: Cocktail Hour
I missed the first 20, maybe 30 minutes of my cocktail hour because we were taking pictures and I was LIVID!! It was a lot of fun to mingle with people before hand and like everyone says, you miss out on lots of great food otherwise. It's your party. I wouldn't want to miss even a minute.

Re: Cocktail Hour
Our ceremony was at our reception site. We ended up attending ours and getting a chance to talk to our guests. We really enjoyed it and would not have changed what we did.

Re: Cocktail Hour
I refuse to miss my cocktail hour. That is where all the great food is! We are getting married on site so we will be taking all our pictures beforehand.
