Jenny, I think a lot of the price depends on whether the album is library bound or insert and the style of the studios. I think in photography, budget shopping is not something you want to do.

Try to find someone whose work you really really love, and try to stay within some kind of a budget.

My photographer's packages start at around $2,900, including complete wedding day coverage;
1 Library bound album with 30 - 10*10 Portraits;
2 - 8*10 custom portraits; complete set of proofs in color and B&W and we get all our negatives.

So to me, your price sounds too inexpensive and I would be a little worried. But if you like their work and they have good reputation, go with them.

I am paying $2000 and we get

8' x 8' 36 page album
2 5' x 5' 18 page parent albums
1 11' x 14' pic
2 8' x 10' pics
100 thank yous
all the proofs(400 +) and negatives...color and b/w
whatever album we want...digital/leather/perma
1 photographer and an assistant, and she starts at 1 pm at the hotel and stays with us until the end of the wedding.
It was a pretty good price compared to others, especially since she is doing b/w's, and we both loved her personality,which i think is very important since you are stuck with them the whole day
