My dress is ivory but it is so subtle you really have to put it next to white to see the difference. I just thought it was a much nicer color, it is softer, warmer and more flattering to my skin tone than stark white. I love the ivory shades that are available now, definitley go for it! Virginal white and what it symbolizes is completely outdated, in my opinion anyway!

Re: IVORY BRIDES???
I was an ivory bride and I loved my gown!!!! I just looked better in ivory than white. I am very pale!!! But I did have a nice base tan thanks to the tanning salon!!!
My dress is off white. I liked the color on me better than stark white. Also it looks so close to white because of the fabric material.
I was just thinking the other day about how everyone says you can't tell it is not white unless you hold it up to something. What are you girls doing about flowers? Mixing white and ivory to break it up or what??
Me too!! but no pic.. don't have one and don't want anyone to see me dwess...

Re: IVORY BRIDES???
Jenny, I am an Ivory bride too. I also have an olive skin tone and dark hair. I always thought I wanted white white white, but after I tried on the ivory the white just seemed too severe. Go ivory!

Re: IVORY BRIDES???
For you ladies with ivory dresses, what color tuxedo shirt is your FI wearing? One tux shop told me, my FI should not wear white because my dress will look dirty. But I do not like the ivory tux shirt..it looks yellow. Maybe I should post this on the newlywed board.

Re: IVORY BRIDES???
I wore a light shade of ivory and didn't even think about the white tuxedo shirt thing until it was too late. But it didn't make a difference. The pictures came out fine with his white shirt and my ivory dress.
I used a mixture of white and pink tulips with white lilacs for my bouquet and it looked nice with my dress - Most white flowers aren't really stark white - but i did give a swatch to my florist so she could work with it.

Re: IVORY BRIDES???
I'm an ivory bride too - actually my dress is more like 'diamond white'. I was torn with the whole 'ivory' vs. 'white' but decided to just go for it. As far as the shirts for the guys, you should go with off white or a cream color. We went shopping for the tuxedo's last week and they suggested that too!!! Good Luck.
