I booked Commack Wedding Center for Photography (digital package), video (I had them cut out most of the animations and have an awesome long tape), My dress and alterations, my girl's dresses and alterations and that was it. I was very impressed and saved a ton

I used a seperate DJ, limo, Invites.

We used a bridal planning place called Majestic Bridal in Elmont. We got our limos, photographer, videographer, flowers, invitations, and favors from them. It was the best thing we did because we saved so much money and everything was great. A lot of friends and family of mine that are getting married or recently got married booked individual vendors and they are spending a lot more money than we did. They also did not get as much stuff as we did. For example, we got 50 pcitures in our album and 30 pictures each for our parents album, 125 Thank yous, all the proofs plus a bunch of blown up pictures - whereas most of my friends are only getting 36 pictures in their albums and some don't even get parents albums with their package. In my opinion, package deals are the way to go.

I recommend shopping individually for your vendors

I'm not into the 1 stop vendor shopping either. I visited a few all in 1 places & wasn't that impressed. Yes 'some' all in 1 packages save $ but in most cases you don't get to pick who does what or even meet wtih them personally till right before the wedding, if at all.

I just preferred to hand pick each vendor individually. It is costing more but to me it is worth it. But obviously this works for some folks cuz plenty of them are in business.
