Yes, they pay for it on their own... And I myself have been able to tell when they've done their own hair & everyone else is professionally done!

i don't think that you should have to incur the cost of their makeup and hair. you could let them know that the person will be there and that they can opt to have her do their makeup and hair and let them know what the fee is.

if you give them an option...then you don't have to pay...but if you are requiring them to get their hair done...or a specific look...I would pay for them...

I told my BMs that I would love to pay for their hair but I can't afford it. They were surprised that I even wanted to!! I also told them that they could do their hair however they want, whatever is comfortable for them. I also told them this about their shoes too. I want my bridal party to be happy and comfortable, and I'm not particular about it. I think they are all stunningly beautiful women no matter how they wear their hair or do their makeup! Of course, I'm partial to think that because I love them so much!

I'm paying for my BM's and mother's hair but that's because they have been so good to me and my sister, who is my MOH, does not have a lot of money. I am not paying for make-up however, but I'm hoping that they will use my make-up artist since I'm paying for their hair. I only have 1 MOH and 2 BMs, so I can afford it (plus I've been putting in extra hours after work so I've got the money in the bank). I've been in a wedding and did pay for hair, which I expected.

My mom paid for the BM's hair and make-up. The hair person and make-up artist both came to my mother's house to do all except for one BM's hair and make-up (she got it done on her own with her own hair and make-up).

I'm paying for all their hair, but not makeup. Since they are all wearing black gowns - I wanted to make them look a little more similar so they will stand out as the bridal party.

I'm going to pay for my BMs hair, but not make-up. They have the option of getting make-up done if they want to pay for it.
