which is better to get, 8gz (199) or 32 (299)........i just dont know if he will have more than 1500 songs??? I dont want to get the 32g one and he winds up dl like 200 songs but then again i dont want to get the small one and he needs more room???

Just go for the 32. The more space the better.

2....my SEVEN year old nephew has one and LOVES it....FH always asks if he can play a game on it when we go over his house.

i bought myself 1 (the big one) because it has a longer battery life and i use it alllllll day (and on long trips). but i sometimes wish i went with 2 bc i like the screen.

eta: just saw your follow up question. i have the 120 gb. i have a ton of music BUT more important i have a ton of movies and tv shows. maybe if he has the bigger one he'll DL movies and stuff - that takes up a lot of space and battery life.

FH has it, it's easy to work with and I use it for the beach, gym and we put it in our Bose sound dock in our apt.

I would get the larger memory size - if he wants to put a movie or TV show on it, the memory fills up fast and you'd rather have more than less right?!

I have the larger #2 and I love it. You can definitely use it at the gym--I do all the time!

Just a word of advice--the only way you can access the internet is if there is wireless service around you. It's not like the phone where you can get it everywhere. You don't need the internet for most things, but if he is looking to do a lot of internet stuff, the iphone might be better
