For those not having kids at their wedding, did you put this anywhere on your invitations? If so, what did you put? I was thinking of putting it on the bottom of the invite but, I'm not sure.

On the reception card you can put Adult reception. Its better then putting it on the invitation IMO

That is a good idea and originally when we were not having kids this is what we were advised to do by invitation vendors.

Another idea which we are using to try to illiminate people inviting guests that are not invited is we are having the RSVP card pre filled with the number of seats that have been reserved...ex.:

'2 seats have been reserved in your honor'

We are doing something similar. I personally wanted to put 'Adult Reception' on the response card but my mom and FH and some BMs thought it was tacky. I thought it was fine. But I think what we are going to do is put the names of the people on the address, ex:

Mr John Smith
&
Mrs Jane Doe

or Mr & Mrs. John Smith

rather than

Smith Family

Then we will have the response card prefilled with the number of adults invited, ex:

Adults _2_
Attending __

and have them fill that in.

Something like that.

I agree. Try having your RSVP cards personalized with the names and # invited.

We didn't have kids but I didn't like the idea of putting it on the invite. We simply addressed the envelopes accordingly 'Mr. and Mrs. Raymond >>>>' and when the family was included, we'd right 'The >>>>>> Family' on the envelope. We also via word of mouth got it across that kids weren't invited. No problems.

Unfortunately some people dont get it when you do that and jus assume it means they can do whatever they want. Its very rude to take it upon yourself to decide if its family or not. Thats why it better to make it crystal clear exactly who you're aiming towards

This is what we did...also to avoid people writing in extra guests we put - 2 seats have been reserved...or 1 seat (depending on the number of intended guests) We made up a few versions of the reception card...it was more but we had no problems with guests not getting 'the hint'!

Pretty much in line with the other posters...
We addressed the invitation to the actual guests... Mr. & Mrs.....?
Added Adult Reception immediately following...
Also added Two Seats Have Been Reserved in your Honor

We weren't taken chances after the RSVP drama some other ladies were having.
