I have a list of questions that I asked all the reception halls I looked at. It's a Word document. If you want FM me your email address and I'll email it to you

Re: Questions to ask my reception hall
Basically anything that deviates from the standard contract - if you want different filling flavors in your cake or a special design - put it in. - if they say they will throw in an upgraded anything, put it in. - if they are including anything extra, put it in. - detail what the service charge includes (salaries & tips for wait staff, bartender, valet, coat check, etc.) - if they say you can have ANY type of beef, chicken or fish - make them put that. If you want something special that you are willing to upgrade, put it in. - what decorations are included (I know SMCC includes centerpieces) find out if you can upgrade through their florist if you want to later on, also what about you would get back if you don't use that florist at all. - the price per plate for vendors and children (keep the age of the children in mind - a 6 year old will probably not eat a regular dinner and would prefer chicken fingers or something - you don't want to pay a slightly discounted price. we negotiated half price) - see if they will throw in something extra if you are under in your headcount. - if there are any restrictions to setting up decorations.

Re: Questions to ask my reception hall
not to sound too food-obsessed, but some places charge extra for seconds after the main course. We have some healthy appetites in our families so that was important for us to ask.
