Re: dumb question
personally, I would put it on both. the 'and guest' situation is always such a touchy subject. you want them to be sure you''re inviting the guest.

Re: dumb question
DOn't put and guest. Since the 'and guest' is an unidentified person, they don't need to save the date. Only John Doe does.

Re: dumb question
I'm only addressing the STD's to the person I know. For me personally, I feel the STD isn't something formal like the invitation. When I send out the invites then I will make sure that everything is addressed according to etiquette.

Re: dumb question
I am leaving it off. Plus if you send the STD witha guest, you HAVE TO send the invitation with a guest and by the time you send invites out, the guest may be cut

That, and I'm not wishing bad on anyone, but if the bf/gf is not someone you would invite independently, I wouldn't put their name ont he STD cause what if the couple braks up before then? STD's go out so far in advance, you never know... if they're together when the ivites go out, I'd put their name on the invite but not on the STD

ITA. Unless the guest is in a long term relationship/live in, etc, i wouldn't put the 'and guest' part.
it's only a STD, so if they plan on brining a 'date', it's up to them to remind their guest of the date.

I would just leave it for the actual invitation and keep it off the std

Re: dumb question
it depends on if you know the other person.. for example my friend and her bf have been together 5 years - ill put his name... but my cousin has new bf , wont put his.... i wont put and guest,... only the name if i know them a while.. hope that makes sense

Re: dumb question
Thanks for the advice girls. I really wouldn't know what I would do. But it looks like the majority says do not put the 'and guest' on the STDs. Makes sense. Especially because the guest list isn't final at that point. Thanks! [Even though it wasn't my question]

Re: dumb question
i would just put it on the name of the person you are invited. like aunt ethel for example. if she wants to bring a date, then its for her to invite that other person

I agree. . we are only doing guests for those who are in long term or serious relationships... and you never know what will happen in the time prior to your wedding
