yep, they do.. editted to say that there's 2 dif kinds.. there's actual wax.. which is more expensive and can crack and break off during mailing or there are clolored glue sticks you can use...you can get it cheaper online.. 1 stick only does like 4 seals...

you can try hotstix.com or fauxwax.com they have bags by the pound there.. and def buy one of those pads they sell, it'll DEF come in handy.. and do them before on that pad instead of directly on the envelope.. it'll take some practice to get the hang of it and you don't want to ruin your envelope.. =)

No problem.. it'll be easier for you to do it that way.. and the trick to them is to use ALOT of ice.. and ice the 'stamp' before stamping it.. it'll make it look nice and you'll be able to pull it away quicker.

I used these for my invitations (inner envelope) and also for the front of my programs.

I tried both the 'real' sealing wax, and the 'fake' kind. The real wax was okay, but it smelled horrible when it melted and was a complete HASSLE! Not worth it.

The 'fake' stuff I got from a web site called Faux Wax. Faux Wax Website They have a ton of colors to choose from, and you can even buy the low-temp glue gun from them for something like 4 or 6 dollars. It works GREAT!!!

Dont go to fauxwax...they are just selling colored hot glue at a premium.

Another tip is to freeze the brass seal and have a bowl of ice to dip it in between presses - a cold stamp on hot glue makes for a better impression as well as being easy to remove.

Sonicstef, I used the Faux Wax and it worked very well. You can't tell it's colored glue at all and the price was reasonable, 20 sticks for 6 dollars. You get something like 10 seals per stick, so that's 200 seals for 6 dollars. Not a bad deal in my opinion.

I agree with freezing the seal! It's SO important. Otherwise it won't pull away from the wax and instead you might pull the seal right off and tear a hole in the paper. I kept a coffee mug full of ice on the table. I'd make one seal, and then put the stamper in the ice for a few seconds before I made the next one. Worked like a charm.

I made 60+ seals for my invitations, and almost 90 on my programs. I had NO problems at all.

Just my opinion...

Km: OH, I didnt mean to say fauxwax is bad. Just that they are selling the same colored glue that can be bought for less elswhere and calling it faux wax instead of colored glue. Its not expensive now matter where you get it, just giving a little tip about saving a few dollars, thats all

Hi Stef,

I didn't know you could buy colored hot glue! (except for the Faux Wax). Wow, wish I'd known. Can you get it at Michael's or places like that?

Thanks for the info!

So you're saying that colored glue is the same as faux wax? Do you know where it can be bought?

MarcellaBella Posted:

Re: FYI for anyone using wax emblem/sealers...

yes, it's the SAME thing! lol

Michael's has them.. I think they are like 6 sticks for 3.99 or something.. but they only have like white/gold and silver..

if you need a specific color, that'll be a bit of a problem..

you can try online at www.hotstix.com I believe stef used that site to get hers.

Re: FYI for anyone using wax emblem/sealers...

A long time ago I bought a bag of colored hot glue sticks from Michaels. It was a variety pack and had like 10 colors in it, at least 30 sticks for $3. Of course I never found it again but I used the pink ones in that pack for my bridal luncheon seals and to write the names of my BMs on their gift boxes. Im sure i will use all the colors on something at some point.

I had to get my red glue off the internet which is slightly more b/c of the shipping, etc.. But its great.
