Re: Is anyone having vendors tell them it's too early????
I had a reception hall tell me that when we were looking for halls and guess what I booked another hall (which I am very glad that I did) and they lost my business. Any vendor who told me that would not get my time or money. The florist that I want to use did tell me that it was a little too earlier but I told them that I wanted to discuss with them a flower budget and prices and said no problem come on in. It is your money and your day so you can go with anyone that makes you happy.

A few people actually told me NOT to book limos right now - b/c when you contract too early you get the older limos while the newer bookings will get the new limos that come in

I agree I hadn't heard of that but a few people I go to school with used to drive and work for limo companies and another told me her uncle owns a company and gave her that info. So not sure but thought it was interesting. They said it is b/c you contract for a certain car - so the people who contract closer to the date get the new cars that come in -who knows

I was told that, and too bad on these vendors! I figure it is a way to jack up the prices. We also did not go with anyone who told us it was too early. People think 2004 is still so far off and it really is not. They are in for a rude awakening. (This just fustrates me that vendors are so nasty about this!)

It's irritating. But in a way I understand it. We are all so excited about getting married that we want to plan it all now. But it will be so anticlimatic during the next 470+ days (for me). We need to spread out the fun..especially when it comes to the minute details.

I had a florist in Queens tell me that they wouldn't even take money to hold a date because the wedding was a year away. So we went to another florist and booked them.

I had a limo company tell me that they would not even speak to me untill my wedding was closer. Another limo company told me that I should book soon because my wedding is in march when teens start to book their proms, we might not be able to get the limo we want if we wait to long. We both work, I work retail, so I have crazy hrs. sometimes and hardly have a weekend off. If they won't take our money ladies, then we will find someone who will.

I already have my limos and flowers and neither one told me it was too early-they did the opposite-they encouraged me to book now--things book up fast-especially the good stuff & especially if you are getting married @ prime time--When i found my dress on a whim the ladies @ the salon were like 'It's a lot closer than you think, and things get discontinued so if you are sold on it, ORDER IT!' so if a company is telling you it's too early-I would stay clear of them because maybe they are afraid they aren't going to be around till then! LOL
