Just let it go... sometimes you have to just let your parents get their way! It's not worth the stress... you have so many other things to focus on! I know it must be annoying, but moms have a way of sneaking people into your guest list that you either don't know or haven't seen since you were in diapers!!
Hang in there! Deep breaths!!!

Re: Boy a I TRYING to be the Better Person....
I don't have any real advice, but I have sympathy! My mother put her live-in boyfriend's 4 grown kids on my list and I really don't like them. I'm never invited for holidays (after 8 years of knowing them!!) and if I am, I'm expected to to leave FH home! In fact, one of them got married about 3 years ago, and I wasn't invited, but my mother was. I even gave them suggestions for their reception that they used, but still wasn't invited. After the fact, he felt bad about it and invited me to dinner, but of course, without my FH and we live together!!
I say, tell the daughter her invitation 'got lost in the mail' because thats what I'm doing. I'm not fighting w/ my mom over it, its just going to happen.

Yes I agree- I have the same situation with my own brother- he hasnt spoken to me in over 2 years and my mother is driving me crazy about inviting him- I dont feel that I should have someone at my wedding that I dont even speak to- but I decided to just let it go and pray that there is no bad scene at my wedding- I know how you feel but its for or mothers sake

Invite them, you'll be so happy and on cloud 9 you won't even notice they are there
Be happy you didn't have to go to her wedding, you probably would have been miserable

I would let it go. Maybe she was having a small wedding because it was her second time around. You won't notice her any way that day, and if she doesn't want to celebrate you'll be happy if she replys no. I see your point of annoyance, but there's more important things (happy things) to think about then her.

Honestly, I would say something then let it go. We can't STAND FH's sister. Its very obvious. But we let FH's parents know very clearly why she is invited to the wedding (b/c of his parents only) and reasons why we don't want her there. The last thing I want is his family talking about me b/c I don't speak to what's her name. Everyone knows how I feel about her and I don't have a problem expressing myself when it comes to her. FH has already told his mom she is not invited to the shower. Wanda doesn't want her there.

I'm going to say, let it go too! Why stress about this? There are always a few people on the invite list we'd rather not invite. Do you think that them being there is going to ruin your day in any way? Probably not. I know it's probably just getting your goat, but just think of how wonderful your day is going to be and concentrate on that.

I dont have any great advice to give you but to invite them. I know how you feel though because my mother insisted on inviting friends of her that i havent seen in years but she still wants to invite them.

Would you have wanted to go to her wedding anyway? Think of not being invited to hers as a blessing in disguise. As for not wanting her at your wedding, be the bigger person, and invite her. She might not accept the invite anyway.

I'd say be the bigger person here Jenn...at least you didn't have to give her a gift if you got invited to her wedding but if she comes to yours, she will bring you something! No seriously, I agree with the girls, you won't even notice her there....

You are the better person and you can at least find comfort in that!!!
Sit her with any leftover's that you have straggling.....who really cares where she sits as long as it's not with you!

Are you having a children's table? Sit her there...she is after all the child of your mom's husband. J/k. I say sit her with the other people that you can't quite find a place for, or with work people.

Re: Boy a I TRYING to be the Better Person....
This is where I HAVE to settle and sit FH's beatch of a sister with her immiedate family. If it was up to me I would sit her right next to the band's drums so she can walk out with a headache!! LOL If your mother doesn't have a problem with putting her elsewhere, then stick her all the way in the back in the corner.

Re: Boy a I TRYING to be the Better Person....
better for you that you don't have to buy her a gift...but now the pressure is on her to do so for you...
it could also have been an oversight...I didn't invite my BIL's parents to our wedding (didn't even think about it), but then my MIL got an invite to my sisters wedding...although my MIL is closer to my family than my sisters ILs are...

I feel soo sorry for what you have to go through , thats very wrong on the part of him and his daughter, Personally I probably wouldnt invite him or his daughter.. .. To keep peace though you should just invite them, and forget about it! I think I would have fun with it, Invite the daughter as Miss X and not the husband(then say 'oh i didnt know she got married, no one invited me to her wedding'
