I don't think they you're being too sensitive. It would bother me also. But, there is a lot going on in your family, so i'm sure as it gets closer to the wedding they will be much more interested and excited about the plans.

I know of a similar situation. I never spoke to the bride about it, but the mother of the bride expressed to me that it was hard for her to get excited because it was over a year away, but as it got closer, she got much more involved and excited for the special occasion!!

Its hard for people that far out to feel excited about it. Just take this time to enjoy it with your FH and I am sure as the wedding gets closer everyone else will join in your excitement!

Re: am I being too sensitive?

families are complicated. I'm one of 5 children, but my siblings are older than I am. They have their own families now. When I announced my engagement I didn't sense a real excitement from them. It wasn't the biggest deal, no one got up and hugged my FH and I. I did receive a really nice card in the mail from one of my sisters, that was nice. Their reaction did make me a little sad. Actually my FH was kind of upset without me saying anything. I think he's used to being more of a big deal in his family.
You have a different situation than me, you said you're very close with your one sister. I do have one sister who pays attention to me and is good to me. For me, it's a reflection of the big picture, my relationship with my siblings in general. I'm just trying to accept that I do have awesome people in my life who are there for me so that's pretty cool. And I think your sister will show you she's happy for you and there for you in ways in the future, even if she didn't get you a gift yet. People aren't required to get gifts for the engagement, especially if you're not having a party.
