Hey, how old is your pup? I used to be a Vet Tech... Sounds exactly like many cases we had.. The dogs could be allergic to:

Dirt
Grass Clippings
Grass Chemicals
Flowers
Carpet
Carpet Cleaners or Powders
Certain materials...

Has anything changed inside or outside since you got him?

poor thing.

ya know, my husky is allergic to corn and he gets insanely itchy and chews and scratches his paws and elbows. IT's actually a very common allergy.

maybe after you're done w the vet food, you could try a non corn food?

I love wellness CORE . it's grain free.

aww, i feel so bad for your pup.

my dog has allergies too. we have to feed him prescription food, which costs about $120 a bag. he can't eat anything with chicken, fish oil or potatoes. it's really a problem b/c pretty much every dog food and snack has those ingredients. for snacks, we can only give him milk bones, apples and carrots.

i hope your dog feels better soon.

My cat is on the feline zd diet because he was allergic to every thing and he loves it.

He will be so much better on the diet!

He's 13 months. He hasn't been out too much lately and nothing has changed indoors. We did change his food from wellness to nutro and I just was switching him from that to blue buffalo but he already had this problem before I changed his food.

The problem is with doggies like people, weird allergies can develope after a few months or years..

My friends dog can't go outside on the lawn or dirt.. she can only walk him on a sidewalk.. he gets a rash so bad from dirt or grass that his skin will actually crack and bleed

Did the Vet give your pup Prednisone?
