Yikes, in my opinion, that is COMPLETELY unacceptable behavior from a friend. Now, I am known to be the confrontational type...so without a doubt I would say something to her about this. Honestly, I don't think if what she said is true I could be friends with her because I'd be afraid of what else she was saying behind my back.

If she really is your friend, you should say something to her. If she sides with her weird husband, I would honestly write her off. I'm a biatch like that, but I really cant stand negative Nancy's or flaky 'friends'. Its your day and you shouldn't have to worry about stuff like that.
People get really jealous and thats all it is . You should enjoy your special time, especially with your mom.

I think there is probably more going on here.... it probably has to do with the type of relationship she has with her husband. I'm sorry, this really sucks
I don't know if there is any really good way to bring it up with her without it becoming super awkward, but if you think that you are going to have a really hard time being friends with her anyway then you don't have anything to lose, I guess.

Re: Need some advice..
honestly, if she was your friend she wouldn't talk about you behind your back, and agree with her husband. maybe they are jealous that you have it that way you do, but who are they to judge?!
Before writing her off, I would have a talk with her about this, and if she was your real friend she would understand what she said/did was wrong...and maybe apologize... and hopefully you can move on from there..
but I agree with the other ladies, you don't need the negativity around you, this is YOUR wedding...NOT theirs!!!!
good luck! let us know what happens!!!

ITA, I was just going to say this. With her being married to this guy and if he continues to behave that way and sort of 'brainwash' her...I hate to say this, but you probably wont see much of her anymore. It's a really sad situation. Sorry that you are dealing with this.

Mel - im really sorry your going through this did you tell thomas yet?? does he have an opinion or are you leaving it away from him??? but dont think that everyone thinks this about you.. .coming from future family who knows things about your wedding and you have been knowing you for longer than other girls on the site.. i dont believe that anything your friend is saying is true and if a mom wants to spoil her only daughter esp after something like cancer almost taking her away then you know what you have to live each day as it comes and the way you want to!!!
as for talking to the friend being me i hate confrontation so i wouldnt say anything but if it will make you feel better and not stressed then say something!!!

Re: Need some advice..
jealousy is such an evil thing. it is sickening actually, peoples true colors come out when they are envious. That is all this is.
I can guarantee she is not the only one saying things like that ..alot of people are jealous of what they cant have. unfortunetly it is sad but very true. I lost my BM, BF for over 15 yrs over nonsense like this.
I would confront her, cover every corner, hear her out- and take it from there. Either move on or cut her out. You do not need any negativity in your life. Let her and her husband who she will probably divorce soon stay in their miserable little love hibernation, brain washing, shhhiiiit talking bubble..

sounds like jealousy but I would try and let it go to save your friendship. shame on other drunk friend for bringing it up and causing controversy you dont need.

Re: Need some advice..
You really need to confront her about the situation. I would definitely confront the person and honestly who gives a sh*t who is really paying for your wedding. They're obviously haters and you don't need that right now especially with wedding planning. This is a stressful time for everyone and no one needs more stress nor drama. I would be extremely hurt and mad but that would show me that, that person is not a true friend to be in my life.

She's in the bridal party, she already ordered the dress and everything.. And I was in her wedding in November... So that's kinda my dilemma lol
just be frank, dont be btchy or yell, just flat out say listen this hurts me that one of my closest friends would say this about me, and your husband needs to either grow up or not show up.
dont make it seem like its anything other than her actions hurt you. keep reminding her of that, and dont name call.
