I'd stay at either the boardwalk, yachts club or beach club.
there's always something going on at the boardwalk, and you can take the ferry boats to epcot and hollywood studios. And you have a great view of the firework show at epcot every night.
FH and I are spending our HM down in disney, and we're staying at the yacht club (water view)! so excited!!!
eta: the boardwalk is more of an adult hotel compared to the 3 mentioned above if that mattered to you.

A non Disney Hotel. There is a very nice Westin in Lake Mary which caters more to adults but it's in a nice community and 30 min or so from the beach

I agree, I LOVE All Star Movies!
We are Disney Vacation Club members, and just stayed at Saratoga Springs and Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village. I liked Saratoga because it was so close to Downtown Disney, it does have multiple stops tho. Kidani Village was okay. Not so many kids, like in the Jambo House.
We are also doing a WDW hm. We are taking a cruise and then staying in WDW. We are looking to stay in Ft. Wilderness Cabins, which is considered a moderate resort (as in price) You can try to compare @ disboards I LOVE this site, always use it for my trips, even after 8 yrs of going.

if you like animals look into the one at animal kingdom- i haven't been there but have seen pictures from friends and they have rooms that overlook the wildlife reserves so you can have a giraffee walk by your room which i think it pretty amazing

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies.. I'll look into them
Large animals up close freak me out.. I don't think I could ever stay in Animal Kingdom knowing they are all around lol.. I could stay in cute puppy and kitten kingdom though if that existed lol

Depends on how much you want to spend
I think Pop Century is the best Value hotel, but I also like All Star Music, it doesn't have as recognizable icons as movies, so it gets fewer kids (you will get bands and cheerleading groups depending on time of year), and Sports doens't appeal to me, plus you get sports teams.
Of the Moderates, I'd say French Quarter. It's really romantic. It has such a laid back, quiet feel. You can take a nice little stroll. I LOVE it.
For a Deluxe, I'd go for the Grand Floridian, but that's just me. I'd wanna go all out.

Hmm so much to think about! So far I like the beach or yacht club and coronado springs the best.. I love the grand floridian but I think its more than we wanna spend for just a few days there.. Yacht and beach club might even be too expensive..
Hmmmm.. Thanks for the suggestions keep em coming girls :)

FH and I went to Disney for his first time last year and stayed at the Saratoga Springs. We absolutly LOVED it!!! It was quiet ( not many kids) and quite private. It was possibly the best hotel i ever stayed at in Disney ( i used to go there all the time as a kid) The only thing we didnt like that much was that since it isnt one of their most popular hotels, there werent as many busses to and from the parks but it was SOOO worth it!!!!

fyi coronado springs has this great marketplace that has lots of diff stations so you can have all sorts of food. and they had amazing frozen margaritas. theres a lake in the center w hammocks around it and its QUIET!
plus remember you can go to any other resort and eat there too.

Re: disney world
Wilderness Lodge.......my FH and I will be going there this January with the rest of my family. We are going down to celebrate my parent's 35th Wedding Anniversary! My sisters and I are paying for their trip.
We picked the Wilderness Lodge because of the rustic feel and also the location. You can take a boat to the Magic Kingdom or Contempory. Additionally, if you take it to the Contempory you can jump on the monorail to Epcot (dinner) or Grand Floridian or Polyneisian.
Additionally it is the cheapest Deluxe category hotel.

I am liking this place more and more with everything I hear about it... Is it in the Animal Kingdom though or just by it? I can't tell from the map if its in it and if it is.. AHH! if not, I think it might be the winner
