????????

I am Lutheran and received confirmation in 1988. I need a letter from my church stating I was baptised anf rec'd confirmation to give to my SIL so FH and I can be godparents. She is raising my niece catholic. I called the church this morning and they have no papers from anyone being confirmed in 1988. She told me to speak with the Pastor on Tuesday.

Do I have to get reconfirmed?? If so, how long does it usually take??

Re: ????????

I thought it was some kind of law that they needed to keep the papers, and if they didn't have them at the church, they should have them at some central location... I don't remember exactly, but that's what our priest was telling us. My FH church is no longer there, and this is what he told us... we haven't gone to find his papers yet though, so i dunno exactly

I was told that only if the church closes it then goes to the central location.

Hey i'm a youth director in a Lutheran church. Did they take a picture, i'm sure they have a confirmation album in that church. Maybe they inuded the names of the confirmands in their report to the synod. Do you know what synod the church you got confirmed in is in?
