Sorry for what you are going through...honestly I totally see your side and empathize but with the florist being friends and being invited I think you owe it to FH to try one more time..see if you can be more specific..definitely discuss with FH that you are willing to give it one more chance..go into the meeting telling the florist friend the truth that you are frustrated and their vision isn't what you had in mind and try to verbalize what changes you would like..Good Luck!!!

Agghhh....I guess you're right. For FH, I should give it one more shot. It's just so frustrating. I feel like I am communicating as clearly as I know how to, and I feel like it's still not working.
Thanks for responsing.
ETA: FH and I did talk about it last night, and I did agree to meet with them once more. I asked him if he took the personal relationship out of it, could he see my point of view. He said yes. He just feels weird bc they will prob be at the wedding. It's a sticky situation. And I don't think it's unreasonable to want to know which flowers will be used before booking. He agreed.

Tough situation, it's always hard mixing 'business' with friendship / family. But I think your doing the right thing by giving it one more try. Maybe go in with some pictures and ask her if she can make a sample centerpiece for you. That way you know for certain that she is on the same page. Otherwise, maybe just order the bouquets from her that way she feels involved and do centerpieces elsewhere or vice versa(??). Sorry your dealing with this, I hope everything works out!

My FH and I have had similar disagrements. It's been difficult because I certainly want him involved and to feel part of the decision making process but when you've waited you're entire life for this one moment and have dreams and visions of what you want it to be, it's hard to give and take. Good Luck, keep us updated as to how things turn out.

And the thing is that I wouldn't be as upset to pay a little extra money if I loved what I saw and the customer service was great. But when I see another vendor do a much better job for less money, it's pretty tough.

I think you should definitely go in there with pictures of the centerpiece you want and the flowers you want. Also ask her to make you a sample centerpiece so you can see what it looks like and change things if necessary.

The thing is, I did go there with pictures that I wanted. I emailed them to her several times and also showed her in person. She told me the specific flowers in the pictures are too expensive and asked if I'd be open to alternatives. I said yes. I'm still waiting to see the alternatives. She also said for me to do some research and it would be helpful if I gave her specific flower names.....(why am I doing the work?). Idk....maybe I'm being a brat.
ETA: when I showed the other florist my pics, she quoted me the price of the flowers in the picture and it was cheaper than what the family friend quoted for less expensive flowers. I just don't get it.

Maybe meet up with the family friend and tell her you were quoted $500 less from the other place for the flowers pictured but tell her you would rather work with them if she could quote you the same for the flowers pictured. And if she's not able to then you might have to go with the other florist since that would fit into your budget better.

I think this sounds like the best plan of action.

At this point it's business. The family friend will understand. As for your fh try to just tell him that it shouldn't be this hard to get what you're asking for. If someone else did it so quick then why not go the easier route. less stress for the both of you

Bellasmommy, I totally agree with you. I have been trying to convey that to FH, but he's still not happy about it...I get it. I'll try one more time just for my honey! But I will say that this time she will really have to WOW me in order for my decision to be swayed.
