Re: How to tell my MOH she can't pick extravagant dresses?
I would say pick 3 dresses you like and tell her she can choose one of them. I would tell her that the dresses she has been picking are too formal and not a part of your vision but if she loves them that much you would love to wear it for her wedding. I feel like giving too much freedom isn't good so the 3 dress choice gives her some power and you.

How to tell my MOH she can't pick extravagant dresses?
Maybe have her in the same dress but add a brooch to dress it up a little or see if the shop can add a few rhinestones (this may be a problem in the long run, she might add too many). Also think about what jewelry she will be wearing, have hers a little bolder.

i would say do this. make her feel like she has a say but at least you are limiting it to something you like. just tell her you really want the dresses to be your style and your own vision but you really wanted her to pick between the 3 herself.

How to tell my MOH she can't pick extravagant dresses?
I agree that you should narrow it down to three of your choice, or at least tell her the style and look that you want. Explain to her that you have a vision and you want everything to match.

I agree with the girls above! Also - don't be afraid to tell her that it is a special day for you and you don't want to pick a dress that is so extravagant that it might take away from yours. I think any reasonable person should understand that the bride wants her dress to stand out on her own wedding day!

I'd just try to explain it's your wedding day. also you don't want her standing out too much if all the others are dressed simple.

How to tell my MOH she can't pick extravagant dresses?
Take charge and tell her NO! It is YOUR day and its your decision. She might get mad but she should understand..MOH duty is to help and support you not to try and outshine you and get all the attention on her.

I agree with the other ladies. Give her a choice between dresses you pick. It is your wedding and your vision.
