Invitation wording drama

We're paying for our wedding 100% by ourselves but we wanted to honor our parents so we're saying '

Mindy ****
daughter of Ann F****
and
Elbert *****
son of Maria and Gabriel****

request the honour of your presence ....

So this way the parents are on it but we are the ones requesting.

HTH!!!

Together with their parents...

This is what I'm doing even though my dad is paying for 90% of the wedding. Both FH and my parents are divorced and I felt it would look weird with how I would have to layout their names.

I agree, together with their parents is the way to go in my opinion.

Yes I think to pay our respect to our parents, we have to include their names in our wedding invites. :)

Yes, I think we have to pay respect to our parents and include their names in the wedding invite. I researched on wedding invites before I got married last year, you might try checking it for the layouts, it might help. weddinspire

We did both
Mr &ms x and
Mrs l and mr l
Formally invite you to the wedding of

Totally wrong wording but

We're going to be doing 'Together with their families Katie and Tom invite you...'

We are paying for like 90% of the wedding on our own. My mom is taking care of the DJ/Photobooth and part of my dress. His parents haven't really offered to pay for anything but we do live with them rent free and thats allowed us to save for the wedding and a house. My father isn't doing anything but we figure 'together with their families' is the safest way to go without hurting anyones feelings.

FH's father paid for the photographer and is very supportive of us. His mom pretends like we're not getting married. Since they're separated, we couldn't put just his dad's name and not his mom's (though I would have liked to). My parents are paying for almost everything. We did:

Mr. and Mrs. Bride
request the honour of your presence of the marriage of their daughter
Bride
to
Groom
son of
Groom's dad
Groom's mom

If his father didn't pay for the photog, neither he nor FH's mom would have been on the invite.

I was in the same boat as you. I put together with our parents since I wanted to honor both sides. To me wedding invitations was the hardest part of the wedding planning process. Good Luck!

We are putting 'Together with their families' because of all of the issues stated above, plus we worried how FH stepmom would handle the 'parents'.. would she think she was not included? Would his mom be offended by referring to her as a parent?? So families it is.

My parents are paying for the majority of the wedding so I would love to recognize them more but I have said from the beginning its not about how much everyone pays if everyone is contributing what they can.

I personally don't like when all of the parent names are listed because as a guest, I immediately say 'oh I guess her parents are paying for it'. I feel like leaving the names out makes it more like look, we are all happy and having this big party and we want you there! Lol, just my personal opinion.
