PS - I know I only post on here about the drama, but I know you guys are the only ones who will understand what I'm going through :)

Thats just rude of your FMIL... My apartment is a mess with all my wedding stuff. I can't imagine having guest over. You will have so much running around. Unless they are helping you with the errands, you can't entertain them.

I know the feeling... I'm housing my MOH, her husband and 2 year old son the week of my wedding which also happens to be Christmas week... They couldn't afford to get a hotel so since I have 2 bedrooms I get them! LOL. Im almost thinking it's worth my sanity to spend the money and get them a hotel room....

They are arriving Christmas night and the 26th I'm staying with my mom and my FH is staying with his mom than the night of the wedding we are staying at a hotel so I guess in all honesty it won't be terrible.. But they are known for not cleaning up after themselves so I am dreading the mess I come home to lol

They are arriving Christmas night and the 26th I'm staying with my mom and my FH is staying with his mom than the night of the wedding we are staying at a hotel so I guess in all honesty it won't be terrible.. But they are known for not cleaning up after themselves so I am dreading the mess I come home to lol

im so bad i wouldnt even trust my closest family to stay @ my house alone. except my sister who used to live with me

ETA - and even then she always leaves a mess and the lights on or off (Whichever is wrong)

1. My FMIL accused me of purposely effing up our invites. Apparently the wording made it look like my parents were paying for the wedding. She accused me of doing it to snub her. PS I didnt want anything pertaining to parents on the invite and I pointed out the mistake.
2. FMIL told me I had to 'Stop trying to live like a rich person' when I said I wanted a photo booth.
3. She told me 'only rich people have kids at their weddings'
4. She INSISTED that we invite some girl that FH went to HS with that he hasnt seen in 10+ years because shes FSILs 'good friend'. Oh and we had to invite her FI too. When we told her no, she FREAKED out and cried saying 'im not going to have anyone at this wedding. everyone is your friends and her family.' Actually my family is SUPER small and YEAH B1TCH! Its our wedding! You bet your *** it will be our friends.
5. I JUST found out today that one of her good friends (fh and I know very well) decided that she didnt want to bring her husband that she was invited with. They took it upon themselves to invite some woman to come with the friend that I have never met..

I could go on for days..

wow angelicd77 your FMIL sounds great. Kidding! Wow, the things she says I'm just shocked at her personality. I hope she starts saying nicer things to you.

#5 we had happen too except the lady didn't RSVP and we called her she said 1-- 2 weeks later she asked to bring a friend. Sorry, tables full!!

LOL no trades! Thanks for commiserating - in a weird way it's nice to know I'm not alone here. One question though: is your FMIL a 6 year old child?? lol. What's your FH's response to this stuff?

Angelicd, I think our FH's moms must be the same people. I literally ignore mine. My responses to her questions are 'yes,' 'no,' and for non-yes/no questions 'I don't know,' and 'maybe.'

She is also inviting far too many people to both the wedding and the shower. Apparently my parents are living ATMs. I would elaborate but my back will hurt if I sit hunched over my laptop for 6 hours.

BTW, I call her FH's mom because FMIL suggests I have some connection to her. I do not and I do not want the word 'mother' connected to her in any way. In fact, I didn't know she existed until about 4 months into dating FH. His parents are divorced and he never mentioned her, and I didn't want to bring up a touchy subject if she wasn't in the picture. I found out because she called him one day while I was with him and when I questioned him he said 'she's not like a real mom....sort of like a semi-helpful aunt.'

And now she is the bane of my existence.

FH tries to be a peace keeper. She only started this a few months ago too. Right around the time we seriously started looking for our own place. I think making me miserable and hate her makes her feel better about the fact that Im taking her 1 good child away from her (FBIL & FSIL are both 30+ and living at home with no jobs. Real gems )
