FH certainly got me speaking more Spanish and wanting to learn it more. He learned both English and Spanish when he was a baby, because his parents are Spanish. I'm learning more and communicating with him the best I can. My Spanish is rudimentary to say the least, but it's fun to tell him mundane things in a foreign language.

The best thing he got me into? Hands down.....DISNEY WORLD.

I had been once before, in 2001, but didn't leave a huge fan (call me crazy). Then in 2009, we went and he took me on a real Disney vacation. I've been a Disney nut ever since!

Despite our similarities, FH has opened up a new world of things I would have never done or become. He's calmed a lot of my anxieties and helped me worry so much less and relax more. He's gotten me into doctor who and fantasy football. He's given me a huge appreciation for REAL Italian food. Every summer we make tomato sauce for the whole family for the year. I will never look at a jar of sauce the same way after putting in the work of making it! He's opened me up to living in jersey. I would have never considered leaving my family and Long Island. While I think I was pretty awesome before him, FH has certainly made me a better and more open minded person

we both got into the walking dead together. we now watch it religiously on Sunday nights, it's one of our favorite shows. we even have walking dead parties with friends. though new episodes won't air until February. we are always like the next time we watch walking dead we'll be married!! lol.

Flying. Before we met, I always wanted to visit Florida but I was too scared to fly. (Unfortunately my parents never took my sister and I on any fun trips that required a plane ride.) FI said that driving down there would be a real pain & he convinced me that flying wasn't a big deal. Thanks to him (and some Xanax lol) I survived my first flight to FL (about 5 yrs ago), and we've gone back 6 or 7 times since then!

FH is a big nerd, so he loves sci fi, fantasy, and comic books. I can't say I have completely gone over to his side, but I am definitely more into those things (all of the superhero movies, Game of Thrones, etc.) which gives me tons of street cred with my male students haha I can't talk sports, but now I can talk superheroes!

HMMM...We have a lot of the same interests. I was already a huge sports fan when we met so that didn't really change. He does make me relax and step back more. I am such a planner & life my life by appointments,scheduled time, and my date book. He kinda flies by the seat of his pants. He got me to realize sometimes you can just go at your own pace without plans, something I def was not used to at all.

There have been soo many shows that he and I have watched together from the start that I may not have watched without him: Sons of Anarchy (OMG LAST EPISODE!), Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, etc. He also got me into Broadway plays and now we go to see them all the time! I'm looking forward to living a bit closer to the city - our date nights will be so much easier

FH has gotten me back into hiking, but further than I used to go on my own.
He has also gotten me to try new foods or stuff with ingredients I wouldn't normally normally consider. I'm the kind that doesn't want to waste food by trying it and maybe hating it especially when I have to pay for it because then it's wasting money too. FH likes to cook and one of the most recent things he has made that is out of the box for me is Spaghetti Squash Lasagna, it's Very good.
The big thing he has gotten me into though and my favorite of the 3 is Hot Air Ballooning. Unfortunately we haven't had the funds to do it the past 2 years, but the very next chance we get I am going up again!
