Re: May Superstition???

My MOH just got married May 17th. It was a gorgeous day and I have no doubt they will last (they have been together for 8 years) I have never heard of a may superstition! You never can be sure about the weather though, look at all of the brides from this June, it rained what seemed like the whole month.
My FI and I were deciding between June 26 and May 8. We ultimately decided on June 26 because we love the summer and the idea of a summer wedding. Also and this will sound corny but I liked the idea of being on our honeymoon during July 4 as it is our favorite holiday and happens to be around the anniversary of when we first met. Also we were worried about May 8th because it is mothers day weekend and other people had me worried that it wasnt a good idea to get married that weekend. I have since realized they are wrong!
But its up to you just choose the day that pops to you the most. (also if you are getting married at a church you may want to call and check for open dates. We ruled out June 19th because the church only had an early mass open and our reception wouldnt have been until 6:30)

Re: May Superstition???

I have never heard of May being bad luck. We are getting married on the 28 of May. The weather is nice in May. We chose late May because we wanted it to be a little warmer. But, there is no way of knowing what will happen. I think you can go to the Weather Channels website and check out how the weather has been on those dates in previous years.

I think that is an old wise tale & never heard of that. I'm getting married in May. We make our own luck IMO!

Re: May Superstition???

I am getting married in May and have never heard of it being a bad month for a wedding. In fact my girlfriend's parents have the same date - May 15th and they have been married for over 40 years. My banquet manager's anniversary is the day after. If you have your heart set on May don't let anyone else change your mind.
