Congrats on Giorgio's!!! I went to a wedding there last year and absolutely loved it! We spent the whole cocktail hour out on the deck and it was great! Don't worry about the parents meeting - I was really nervous too because I didn't think that they would get along, but everything worked out fine. Good luck!!!

Re: I am going to be a Giorgio's Bride!!!!!!!!
Jola, don't worry. My FH's dad was born in Poland in 41 and he can be kind of gruff, but once you give people a chance you find out a lot more. I was so unsure of how my parents and FH's would get along because of a slight language barrier. It turns out that because they are from the same generation, they really bonded and made FH and I feel excluded from conversations
Relax. It will be okay.

I think Poland was trampled on so much in history that it is understandable that he may feel an exaggerated sense of patriotism. Ultimately, though, he is a father and he will want what will make you happy. Does he dislike your FH now?
BTW, my FH's brother lives in Bratislava, Slovakia now. He works for Dell computers and they placed him there.

I know how you feel. My parents are wierd, too....and have their own way of seeing things. They aren't much for convention. But, the bottom line is, they have to accept your fiance regardless of his family. And if they don't get along, no one is going to force them to be together. Just as long as they are civil for your wedding day :0)

It will be okay. Don't worry. You might be surprised to see that parents are parents and they will have that much in common and maybe more.
I wondered what FH's and my parents would think of each other. It turns out that FH's dad and my dad are born a week apart in the same year. And FH's mom and my mom were born in the same year. They may not have grown up in the same country but they remember the same music and movies and events of the time.
