Xp from 07: Ordering a swatch of Maggie Sottero Dress

I know I need a swatch of my dress to bring to Barron's when I order a veil. I happened to be in the neighborhood of Lillette's, where I bought my dress. I asked about ordering a swatch, and the lady behind the desk said that Maggie doesn't do that. They only give the shop the samples to show their customers, but they don't order single swatches for brides. HUH? Should I believe this?

And on top of that.....I asked her when she thought my dress would be in. She said, well it usually comes in 2 months before your wedding. So I said, August, and she said, yeah, June. Okay...so let's say I put my dress order in last April rather than October...it was gonna take a whole YEAR for a dress to come in?

Why does this sound like a load of b.s. to me?

Thanks, Wendy. I went to the website and it says they are happy to provide a swatch to your retailer. Hmmmm now did I call b.s. or what?

How did you go about contacting the Maggie people from the website? I can't figure that out....thanks!

It's true...when I ordered my Maggie at Lillette's I asked for a swatch and they simply don't have them. She said I will have to wait for my gown to come in and they will cut a small piece off then.

I know it's a pain in the butt bc I would really like to order my veil and dye my shoes already!

But the FAQ on Maggie's website says:

Can I obtain a swatch of my gown?
We are happy to provide your authorized Maggie Sottero retailer with a swatch upon request. Please ask your authorized retailer to contact us directly.
*Subject to availability

I'm tempted to just call Maggie Sottero directly myself...I really want to have my veil by April/May so I can do my hair trials!

Did they give you the runaround about when to expect your dress as well?

i dont get why they cant just get the dress in and keep it in the store??

and i agree about the veil i need to get that to start my hair trails asap before all the hair places book up!

Are you serious??? Well that just blows! I really believe everything I'm told.

My dress isn't even white..it's ivory with a light gold lace overlay so I can't even attempt to look for veils without a swatch. I'm also getting anxious bc my gown and BM dresses should be in by now but none of us got 'the call.' I ordered in June and they ordered Sept 1st. If I don't hear anything by the end of this week I am giving them a call.

Wow! At least they were more specific with you but geez...they really are a pain! I guess I'll give them a call to see if I get someone more helpful. She actually said to my mom and I that they usually only take appointments to try on MOB gowns- which I think is b.s. cuz they've said you only need appts for brides. I think she just didn't want to be bothered!

ugh! THat's crazy! there must really be one rude sales person. b/c the few times i went in they were so nice!

The place was completely empty when we were there.... Some people!

That is a load of BS as far as the ordering of your dress is concerned. The company doesnt say oh well she isnt getting married for a nother year lets put her off on the side I would tell them to call the manufacturer right thena nd there and get a delivery date. I do this all the time...I jus ordered my dress and they are telling me March 1st for my May 25th wedding. ALSO make sure that they even sent in your order.

As far as the swatch, if I remember correctly she doesnt do it-but I could be wrong
