Alright... I have a problem...and I'm not happy. LOL> I wanted to order just my pocketfolds from a site that some ladies talked about on here for only $1 each!! But, they only do 5x7, which I THOUGHT was my size invite. BUT...it's actually 5.5x8!! So, I would need to have a custom cut pocketfold...AUGH!... which from THAT site costs $140 for the set-up and THEN another 1-1.50 each!! Soo..>I'm not spending $250 just on pocketfolds! LOL. So, now I have some questions! If I want to make them myself, what size paper should I get for EACH invite? How many should I get? Where should I get them from? I want a blue-ish metallic... I'm sooo frustrated now. LOL> Why Can't I just have a normal size invite??
Can anyone help?? Also, some instrutions of how to make them would be sooo nice as well! I know I know, I'm asking for ALOT! HAHA

Re: xpost 09 - DIY Pocketfolds
Be careful with your sizes - usually what they offer fits perfectly in a standard envelope. The size you want - does it have a standard envelope that fits it ? Usually you need space so it just needs to be a touch larger then the invite closed.

Re: xpost 09 - DIY Pocketfolds
I just did my own pocketfold invitations and I hope this helps! My pics are below. I will give you all my information on what exactly I did. Figuring this all out really took me forever so hopefully it saves you some time! :) I recruited my parents and future hubby and we did all the printing, cutting, and assembly (minus the tags that I still have to do) in a record 10 hours. We were like machines!
I bought the pocketfold from DivineInk because I wanted to stagger the inserts rather than them all having the same width and the Envelopments pocketfold has the biggest insert pocket. (I paid a ton more money for this pocketfold though)
I bought all my metallic paper from paperandmore and did all the cutting myself. I bought the white 60 lb. cardstock from Staples (I think I got a pack of 250 and that was perfect because when I printed them out, I did multiple things per sheet)
I bought the RSVP envelope from envelopemall because they were so cheap (still waiting on the delivery) but they are just plain white.
Here are the dimensions that I used to complete my DIY pocketfolds (Note, this is for the Envelopments pocketfolds, specifically that are a 1/4 inch bigger than 5x7. You might be able to use the same sizes or just bump them up a ¼ inch to meet your sizes)
INVITATION Pocketfold Actual Size 7.250 x 5.250 Envelope for Invitation 7.500 x 5.500 Black Invitation backing: 7.000 x 5.000 Garnet Invitation backing 6.750 x 4.750 White paper for Invitation: 6.500 x 4.500
DIRECTIONS CARD Black Directions backing: 7.000 x 4.625 White paper for Directions: 6.750 x 4.375
RECEPTION CARD Garnet Reception card: 4.125 x 6.000 White paper Reception card: 3.875 x 5.750
REPLY CARD Response Envelope 5.125 x 3.625 Black Reply card backing: 4.875 x 3.500 White paper for Reply card: 4.625 x 3.250
OUTSIDE TAG Black Tag backing: 2.250 x 3.250 Garnet Tag backing: 2.000 x 3.000 White paper for tag: 1.750 x 2.750
So because I used the garnet and black background, I bought 200 pages of the black and 150 pages of the white.
To attach all the papers together, I used the zots (there are many kinds but get the craft not memory book because the craft type has more stregnth). They sell different sizes so I used different sizes depending upon what I was zotting. I think I used like 10 boxes of these! You can buy them at Michaels.
I got the graphics from www.weddingclipart.com. I think that I paid $15 for the subscription. I might still have the code to get that price because its normally $30. Let me know if you’d like it.
So here are some pics. Please note that I did not yet do the printing for the tags. To eliminate the inner envelope, we are going to print everyone’s names on the tag. We thought this would be cute.
Sorry this is long but hope it helps some of you!!!!!
