We're getting ceremony music (DJ w/ small system, NOT a CD) Jazz trio (piano,/vocal percussion, upright bass) for Coctail hour DJ, MC, sax guy basic lights ZAP photography/photographer (6hrs) & photo montage w/ 2 LCD screens for almost the same price from a very good company (in my and other opinions)
I don't know who you got that quote from, but depending on how they are and their reputation it may be okay. My opion just by what you said, it's a little high.
