I am trying to get ready to buy my FH's wedding band, but am confused about the type of metal it should be. There have been articles that I have seen about tungsten carbide being better than most metals because it is more durable, but I have never heard of that metal before. Then there is palladium, and of course white gold.
Does anyone know what is the best type of metal to get a man's wedding band in? I am sooo confused.

depends on your need
tungsten is cheaper but still nice, a great choice for a guy who isn't 'into' rings
platinum wont change colors and is very strong and shiny it's the best quality
white gold is reasonably prices and quality, but you have to get it 're dipped' from time to time the the oils in your hands wear of the 'white' and it gets a little yellow

I know that tungsten is a better choice than titanium in terms of safety. Ex. If FH smashes their hand in a door, Titanium will bend and as the finger swells, will be really hard to get off. Tungsten on the other hand is really durable, but when put in a situation like that will crack. I like the way tungsten looks too! White gold is a little too soft I'm worried it won't look as nice

FH works with his hands a lot so he got a tungsten steel for work days and a white gold ring for the weekends and when we go out...
I always think of the steel as a better material if FH works with his hands.. it will be more durable and it is more affordable in case it gets scratched or dented at work...

i bought FH a tungsten ring last year for christmas, and after almost a year its completely scratched and the black color has faded off
FH wants a titanium ring, so that's what we're going to look at when we're ready to buy

FH also got a Tungsten. He loves the style & it was perfect because he works with his hands.
