Xpost from 2010: Bachelorette Party on Labor Day Weekend?
So I would love to do my bachelorette party about a month before the wedding. It ends up being that that would be Labor Day Weekend. I would love to do a Friday-Sunday morning getaway in AC. I live in SI and my friends and I go there a lot. I just checked the rates for some of the bigger hotels for that weekend this year and compared to the weekend after that it's only 16 dollars more for the room, if we put 5 girls in a room with 2 Queen beds, 125 as opposed to 109 for September 11-13. I would just love to do it that weekend when most of us would have off that Friday and Monday so it's not that the whole weekend is spent for me. Also, it would be nice to have a day to recover before going back to work. Do you think it ruins people's weekends by doing it then and I should consider more the weekend after? I would like to do dinner that Friday night and keep it lowkey possibly and then spend the day at the pool that Saturday and go out hardcore that night.
Any thoughts??
ETA: I will def consider any other costs and also poll the girls first before making anything definite. Just wondering if doing it then is worth considering or should I not even suggest it?

i dont think $16 more a room is that bad!! go for it! and if people have a problem you can always do it the week after! my bachelorette party was 3 weeks before my wedding

I think it just depends on your bridal party. Some people have family bbqs every labor day weekend they might not want to miss or other things they always do for the weekend, other girls might not care at all. I personally would be happier going another weekend bc of traffic. You could always move it to the weekend before if you need to move it and are worried about it being to close to the wedding.

I have a wedding that Saturday before and other events in July and August, I think that's why I was starting with Labor Day weekend and then would move into the rest of September, thanks for the advice!

i would like it. but it depends your BP's other obligations. i think its a great idea tho!
why not book the hotel to hold it until you decide? you def dont wanna decide later and find that there are no more rooms...or the price jumps alot!

I think I will def book it early, but I'm planning for next year just used this year's prices as an example.
