Friends of ours are getting married in Vegas and we are going to the wedding- the ceremony is at the Bellagio and the reception is at a small place off the strip-- The Ritz.
FH and I have no idea what to give- we are a little cash poor right now between getting to the wedding and planning our own- how much would you give?

Re: Xpost from BHB: Destination Wedding Gift
we've given 200 for every destination wedding we've been to. the friends were close though and we weren't engaged then. but after speaking to the bride and grooms, they really said they were touched for those who were willing to make the travel and that they totally understood that the gift didn't need to be anything special or of high value. i'd say give what you can afford. the flight, hotel, expenses etc is not cheap,

hmm you are low on cash how about you get them a gift card to a bed & breakfast of some sort that way you can always charge it and pay it off later (don't know your situation that is if you use a credit card of course)

You're going across the country -- give whatever you can afford!
Whatever you give, they will understand, and just be happy that you went out of your way to be there.

You could always bring a gift - maybe something mongramed or personal.... And then technically you have up to 1 year to send a 'gift' . If you are cash poor now and feel you want to send more- you could always to that down the line. You are making such an effort to be there- I'm sure they'll understand...

Well how close are these friends to you? I would give around 200 bucks.

we've only really gotten close with them since the beginning of the year- they are friends with our friends and we all went away together to vegas for new years- they were there when my fh proposed and helped him put together the whole proposal- so they are very special to us- but we are very broke- so if $200 sounds like enough, i think we will do that.

$200 is more than enough. If you can swing $200, that is a VERY generous gift considering all of your additional expenses.

yea, we paid for our own air, hotel and we are both going to the bachelorette party (dinner at Tao & dancing at Pure) and the bachelor party (dune buggy riding & then the playboy club) so maybe we will do $150
