XPOST: how do you tell a vendor....

that you have decided not to use them... in an email! I have to write one today and not sure how to word that. It wasnt that i didnt like her style, but I had decided that it wasnt exactly what i wanted (for hair) and I was able to get in touch with someone who used to do my hair for other weddings and she was available that day...

Any help is appreciated! Thanks ladies!!!

Make it short n sweet. Tell her that u liked her work but ultimately decided to book with someone else. U don't have to give a reason. Thank her for her time and that's it!!!

That's what I would do anyways... HTH!

I did a short sweet email to the makeup person I didnt want to use. And she wrote back to ask me WHY! I was honest and told her what I didn't like. Maybe she can learn from it.

more power to you but definitely not necessary. it really doesn't matter why you decided not to. you just DIDN'T want to sign with them ... nosy bishes.

as long as they arent asking why in a nasty way, theres no reason why you cant tell them what you didnt like...

no she wasn't nasty - she just wanted to know what i didn't like. the fact is i HATED it - so it was hard to put nicely. but i did...i think.

I would just say,

'We just wanted to let you know that we truly appreciated your time when meeting and speaking to us, but we have decided to go a different direction with our (_____ flowers, dj, whatever).

Thank you again for your time!'

just a short and sweet little thing that says thanks but no thanks

i had a hard time writing one too bc i loved the person but found a better price but everyone on here made me feel better by reminding me that these people are vendors and they get rejected all the time!

This is what I said:

'Hi XXXXX,

Just wanted to let you know that I decided to go with someone else for my XXXX for the wedding. Thank you for your time, I guess we're all set since the $50 deposit is nonrefundable.

Jacki'

short & sweet - and don't feel bad! they will rebook your date in a hot second!
