Xpost: Mini moon advice

so Fh and I don't have a lot of money to take HM after wedding nor does FH have the off work time.

I wanted to go away for like a day or two...nothing expensive but something as a new couple.

I was thinking even in LI like where the wineries are..

Any suggestions? It would be during week!

B&B upstate. I stayed at Albergo Allegria in the catskills last year and it was perfect - very romantic.

eta: http://www.albergousa.com/welcome.htm stay in the main house. the rooms are nice outside of the house but there's something so cozy about being in the house.

I wouldn't do the wineries in March...My in-laws live out there and its kind of a ghost town from Dec - end of Apr...actually a lot of restaurants and shops close for the season.

What about the Poconos?

FH and I went to Rockport, MA this past summer for a long weekend and it was SO beautiful. I'm sure its lovely in March too. We stayed at this very quaint, B&B on the water, and the weekend definitely wasn't enough time! We can't wait to get back. Is your FH into boating or fishing or anything? It is the town from 'The Perfect Storm' so FH was in heaven. Here's the link:

We found an amazing deal in Atlantic City. We're going to the Borgata b/c they have these really cute 'lovers packages', so we're going for 3 days. Really inexpensive and that's one of the better resorts and spas!

do you want to just relax or see stuff and do things?

if the latter, check out boston, philly, dc....or would you consider a really different type of vacation like a dude ranch? they have a bunch like 90 minutes upstate

Mystic, CT is so cute. FH & I go there when ever we need to get away. We both still live at home to save $. They have great package deals and some hotels have free shuttle service to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. Mystic Pizza is excellent and the shops are adorable! It's a nice peaceful weekend. Last year we went to a vineyard in the winter. It was snowing when we got there but it was beautiful! We did wine tasting and bought some wine too. We had a little tour and they showed us how they make the wine. It was a perfect weekend away! Highly recommended. FM me if you want hotel info.
