XPOST: please help a distressed bride!!

its 11 days till the wedding and im pretty sure i have the flu or atleast a nasty nasty cold FH was sick all last week and i tried my best to stay away from him so i wouldnt catch it. i even made him sleep in the guest room, but i caught it anyway. now he's feeling better and i feel awful. the worst part is that i just moved to a new state so i dont have a doctor here i could go to for a prescription, nor do i have insurance since im not working right now. i've been drinking tea non-stop with honey and lemon, taking dayquil and nightquil and drinking thera-flu tea in the morning and before bed. what else can i do to get over this cold fast!! i need all the home remedies i could get.

thanks so much girls

Well if you're fiance's flu only lasted one week, hopefully if you caught that, it'll only last one week too. Then you'll have a few days to recoup. Keep hydrated and rest!
Good luck!

Mucinex or Buckley's. You can also go to a Walk-In Medical center and they'll probably write you a prescription. I'm just not sure how much it'll be without insurance. I'd ask family members if they have any leftover antibiotics, too. I know, I know, you shouldn't do that, but I don't think anything but antibiotics and rest will really knock that out.

If you go to the Vitamin Shoppe, they sell Lysine in a white bottle by Solaray. It has B6 and Zinc in it. 1,000mg is on the bottle. The other ones are not the same.
If you take 3 tablets 3 times a day for approx 2-3 days, it should help your immune system immediately. It will also give your complexion a very nice glow.

RAW HONEY from the health food store. Either mix it in tea or just eat it alone. This also helps tremendously. Not the honey from the supermarket.

They say Vit. C only works before you get it, not so much after. Zinc lozenges also help but with zinc, you need to have it with food in your stomach.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Don't take anyone's 'left over' antibiotics!!! I'm a doctor and this is one of the biggest pet peeves i have! Antibiotics are prescribed for bacterial infections and you should NEVER have left overs...it just breeds resistrant strains and can get you sicker.
Plus if its only a flu or cold you dont need antibiotics!! Rest, hydration and some over the counter tylenol is all you need!

Youll be fine. Of course if you have super high fevers (not 'feeling hot', actually take your temperature and a fever is over 100.4) and dont get better in a few days maybe go to a walk in urgent care place.

FM me if you have any questions.

you can go to a CVS Minute Clinic. I used then a few times when I was uninsured. Not to expensive and they will give you a script of you need it
