Re: urgh... customer makes me feel uncomfortable

Unfortunately people mistake kindness/common decency for flirtation. Ignore him. Don't get chatty with him anymore, don't take anymore cigaratte breaks while he's there, and if he lays a finger on you (even in a joking manner) tell him not to touch you.

This is why I'm not nice to anyone at work anymore.

uncomfortable!

some people have no tact. I say ignore him. The touching you was a big no no. Don't smoke a cig w him anymore. He obviously doesn't understand personal boundaries.

make it completely professional. when he comes in, say hello. be pleasant and professional. Act busy is he wants more attention. He'll get the hint.

I'm sorry....maybe tell him that you are uncomfortable with his 'friendliness' and while you appreciate his interest in the wedding, it should be left at that.

Treat him like any other person on the street from now on. Be cordial and polite and that's it. If he asks u abt personal info, wedding, dance, or whatever, give one words answers 'its going good'. Maybe excuse urself to the ladies. And def no more cig breaks w him. He obviosly doesn't understand boundaries. Good luck!

well you have 6 mos before you have to deal with him again. who know what can happen in 6 mos.

and its not ok for anyone to grab you. you could file a complaint against the co for allowing it to happen.

just be less chatty when you see him. I'd grab a magazine and stand there while I smoked and read it.

you can sue that company for not dealing w the issue if you complained. BUT, you need proof so put it in writing.

it's sad they don't take that seriously bc my company would have FREAKED!

They absolutely should've addressed it. But you have to stand up for yourself, too!! Tell him not to touch you!!! Even if you do it in a joking way, though that'll take him longer to get the hint.

she's right. don't let people hug you. Especially not a customer. It sends the wrong message.

And my FH would have been there in 5 mins and it would not have been pretty.

Ooh same thing with me and DH- he would've been livid. When I had a problem with an attorney at my office, I didn't even tell him! He found out months later from someone else.
