Xyron machine?

Xyron machine?

Anyone use one? Are they useful for making invites? I plan on making my own. One thing I want to do is mount the text of the invite on a piece of backing card stock. Is it OK to use the Xyron to affix the invite, or should I use tape, or is some kind of adhesive best? I'd love to use a Xyron, but I'm not sure I want to drop $40 on this machine if it's not going to work for the invites. OTOH, it's probably good enough to make the smaller bits of the invites, such as the monograms I want to affix to the ribbons--anyway, anyone have a Xyron and want to tell me what it's like?

It will work for the invites definitely. Just make sure that you get one big enough to put the size paper through it. They have all different sized machines. Also make sure to check for a Michaels, AC Moore or Joanns coupon online.

Joanne's has it for sale right now. I'm just not sure if I want to wait for one of their 50% off coupons. I want to start by using it to make my save the dates, and I want to do those soon! People have been asking when the wedding is, and my mom keep saying, 'she's doing little cards sometime soon....' Yes, 'sometime' soon, I have to get off my ***.... I've got everything to do them except the Xyron.

Thanks so much for answering. I just wasn't sure if the Xyron possibly affected the look of the other side of the sticker at all. Guess I'll find out. Even if it doesn't work for the invites, I'll have fun with it, and I have a niece who loves crafts who will probably want to 'borrow' it.

I can't comment on the Xyron since I've never had one.

However, I can comment on the adhesive I used for my pocketfolds. I used Zip-Dry Paper Glue from Michael's. I asked Becky from Pocketsandmore.com for their recommendation and they said this was very good. I really liked this glue. One small bottle goes a very long way. I used it for what you're looking for - for adhering the invite to a backing, for the backing to the actual pocketfold, for the monogram to the backing and for the brown band on the pocketfold.

you can use xyron for invites but be careful if you are using the permanent adhesive (they have permanent and repositionable). on paper products once the permanent is down you wont be able to remove and fix if its not even. just an FYi from lots of experience with xyron
