sorry - i just realized you asked me about the durango on the chrysler thread... it's not GREAT on gas, but i don't find it terrible either. people call it a gas guzzler bc it costs between $30 - $35 to fill up.. but keep in mind that it is taking in so much more gas than a regular car tank (sorry, i am not up to speed on all car terminology). but in cali, you may be better off with a car that is known for being 'good on gas.' the gas prices have gotten atronomical out there. we also have a 2002 mitsubishi galant, which i find is EXCELLENT when it comes to gas. i think mitsu puts out montero sport? if you are looking for a truck... happy jeep / truck hunting!

thanks lauren...

we are in need of 4x4 and we have a great deal for the dodge/chrystler/jeep...so its so tempting to get one...

and they aren't making the durango this year...but there is a 4500 rebate on the 2003s...its so tempting...but I don't know if I could deal with the gas (since we will use it to drive 4 hours to Arizona and 5 hours to Mexico - usually about once a month)

maybe we should go test drive it...

no prob! i think that's a great deal (4500 rebate).
has it ever been driven? prob not.. prob just overstock of 2003s. if it has, i would try to have the salesman throw in an extended warranty just to cover your butt. usually they only cover up to 36,000 miles. good luck. let us know how u do!
