Yah! Blocked Rooms at Hilton and Marriott

I blocked a total of 30 rooms 10 at the Hilton in Melville and 20 at the Marriott in Melville unfortunately the Hilton said they have a lot of weddings that weekend and were only able to grant me 10.

So i went down the road to the Marriott and at first they were talking a price a bit more expensive then the Hilton and we were gonna walk but then they came down on there price and I was happy

Thank God that is another thing done on my list!

No money involved they just block a certain amount of rooms and you do have to sign something but it is nothing binding if your guests do not book all the rooms you have blocked after a cretain date they just release them.

What do you have to do to reserve rooms?? Thats my next to do! Do you need to put down money, or just give them an appoximate of how many rooms??

We just had to sign a contract but we have up until a month before to cancel the entire block if we do so. No money down, and no money will ever be paid unless we book a room. Most places will only set aside a certain amount of rooms without some kind of guarentee though. Hilton is 10 I think, Not sure about Marriot and Sheraton is 15. We are using the Inn at Plainview (Soon to be a Sheraton)... prices were great, so much was offered and the bridal suite is amazing!! We did check out the Mariott and Hilton too, so if you want any info let me know... I did a review on the hotels after we went so if you want to do a search it might help you with info!

It's a good idea to go see rooms in all the hotels. We stayed at the Hilton in the past so knew what the rooms and atmosphere were like. We went to see the difference between the Sheraton and Mariott and found different annemities in both rooms, and the Sheraton matched the price the Mariott gave us. Good luck!!
