I heart Joe Gerardi

I know and it will be weird bc he would now coach quite a few players he did play with...and it would be great especially after he got voted coach of the year but meanwhile the marlins fired him bc he spoke back

i agree with Denise.. at least he turned them down & wasn't fired.

If i were in his shoes i would retire & spend time with his family.. must be soo stressful all these years.

Nah, he turned down the deal because he's holding out for more money

hmmm i think it might also have to do with the fact that during playoffs it was like 'if you lose this game, you are fired' and it was also in the public eye, i know its part of the game but its disrespectful, i kinda think he would rather walk away with his head up rather than him getting fired and even next year if he signed he would have to deal with all of this again and then take the risk of being put in the same position...its kind of like how some people decide to end their shows bc they'd rather be the ones to end it instead of having to get cancelled by the network.

I was and wasn't surprised when I heard the news this evening.

I was thinking the same thing as well. Why would he want to go back after all the cr@p he's been put through the past few weeks. I think its good he was the one to say no though instead of the other way around.

Were talking about a guy who was able to get his team to the playoffs every single year for the whole 12 years he managed them and helped them win the world series 4 times in that time. i dont even think it was about the money at this point. They did him dirty in the end. In my opinion, he didnt deserve a paycut and he didnt deserve to be treated the way he was.
