Re: yaphank-- thoughts
I girl I work with lives there & loves it. She said its a little far away from everything but she doesn't mind driving. She also said that the school district is improving, that by the time her daughter is ready for school she hopes it will be good.

I live north of Yaphank and from what I've seen it looks nice. I live off of Exit 66..is it anywhere near there?

It's a little more rural than my area but I love the fact that the neighbors are spaced out (geographically speaking ). You can get a great deal on a house there!

Re: yaphank-- thoughts
it is probably so cheap because it is in the longwood school district... i know people who went through there and had fine experiences, and others who had awful experiences... it just isn't higher up on the 'good' school district list...

Gut reaction when I hear Yaphank is 'prison' .. since there is a minimum security facility out there.
Other than that .. I can not comment .. well .. except for knowing that whenever I drive out that way .. I love how uncluttered the area looks .. it seems so peaceful .. but give it 10 years or so .. unfortunately the development of LI will continue to stretch eastward.
