Yarmulkes and Ketubahs

What is the average cost of suede yarmulkes and where did you get them? I saw them online for $2.50 each, is that reasonable? I would rather order from a store so I can see exactly what I am getting.
How far in advance did you order your ketubah and what is the average cost? There seems to be a huge range. Thanks.

Re: Yarmulkes and Ketubahs

I found suede yamulkes at the Jewish Book Center on East 33rd Street in Manahattan for $1.90 each, including the imprint on the inside. Their phone number is (212)889-6800, ext.285. thats the cheapest I found so far. I am having a very hard time with Ketubahs. I didn't realize how expensive they are. Make sure you get the right text, they have many different versions, you probably want a egolitarion one. I most temples sell them.
For yolmukas I think you only need two or three weeks and for Ketubas, it depends on how much a work of art the one you choose is. You can get a Ketubah in one day, if you go for a generic one.

You might want to check with your temple regarding the Yarmulkas before you buy them. My temple provides them for you with the names on the inside. As for the Ketubas they range. It also costs more to have it personalized. Your Rabbi may have ones that he uses for free if you do not care what it looks like.

There is also a place on the lower east side called Weinfelds. I looked at suede ones there for about 1.50 a dozen with the imprinting inside.

I just ordered my Yamulke's today. I payed $1.95 for suede ones with black and white trim. Plain suede are $1.75. The comapny's name is J Lowy and I think their website is www.kipot.com. You can look them up on the web. They are very nice and say about 3 weeks for delivery. As far as Ketubbahs, theres a place in Merrick called Yussels or there are alot of websites online to get ideas- they are pretty expensive.
