Yarmulkes for interfaith ceremonies?

Yarmulkes for interfaith ceremonies?

Ok girls - for those of you having interfaith ceremonies - are providing yarmulkes for your guests? And is FH wearing one?

My dad just freaked out on me because we weren't going to provide them and FH wasn't wearing one.

ETA: I'm Jewish, FH is Protesant.

we had yarmulkes for the guests, and FH wore a special one for the ceremony.

Is your family Jewish, or is it FH's family? DH wore one because his family is Jewish, and wanted to keep with the tradition (well, actually, his parents wanted him to keep with the tradition)

I would say have them provided for those who would like to wear them. It's not say that every single person has to wear one, but there might be guests who would want to wear one.

FH is Jewish, I'm Catholic.
He is wearing one but said that he doesn't feel that we need to provide them because we are doing an outdoor ceremony so people don't really need to wear them. He is wearing it just because he wants too and would feel more comfortable with it.
Good Luck!

FH is going to wear one for the ceremony he is jewish. I never thought of getting them to offer to guests till now. Now I'll have to ask him.

I am Jewish and FH isn't. I am providing them to guests who would like to wear one during the ceremony.

My cousin had an interfaith ceremony at Flowerfield. She's Jewish, he's Catholic. There were yarmulkes for those who wanted them. He didn't wear one, but her brother, father, and uncles did.

ETA: They didn't provide them for anyone else. Just immediate family members.

i would probably provide them for the guests .... your family might be weirded out if they didn't see them.

honestly, i'd think your FH should wear one if you're getting married by a Rabbi as well. But if i attended your wedding and he didn't wear one, i prob wouldn't even notice

If there is a good amount of Jewish men there, I would say provide. I've only been to two interfaith weddings and both had kippas.

Yeah, I think we're going to get some for the guests. But FH does not want to wear one.

I'm asking the rabbi what he thinks.

ETA: It would be nice if FH wanted to wear one, but I won't force it.

no one wore yarmulkes at our ceremony, incl. DH.

FH is Jewish and I'm Lutheran we are providing them, he is wearing one for the ceremony but it is obviously optional for our guests. If it was the other way around and I was Jewish I would never force my FH to wear a yarmulke if he wasn't Jewish.

Im Jewish FH is Roman Catholic...

FH refuses to wear one ( which i cant stand but compromise is compromise) we will see what the Rabbi says. Im defiantly going to provide some for the Jewish Guests though
