Yay!!

We are on our way. Booked two venues to visit... The Royalton and Milleridge. Looking to still visit Westbury Manor, Thatched Cottage and Carlyle! Any info, help, vents, praise is willingly accepted and I am thankful for!!!!!

I'm biased, but Thatched Cottage is great! There's a beautiful view of the grounds and the water from every room & an outside ceremony space under a gazebo. You can do a tasting before you sign the contract which a lot of places won't let you do. (My FH and I were able to bring both sets of our parents to the tasting also!) Maureen is a pleasure to work with. She'll go through options that will fit into your budget and really cares about the special details you want. FM me with any questions

I saw the Royalton and the Carlyle, and my wedding is at the Carlyle. I loved the Royalton also but I was worried that it may be too small for a wedding of 200+ even though they can technically accomodate it. A friend went to the wedding there this weekend and said that the food was great.
I've never been to a wedding at either but I LOVED the Carlyle and I'm really excited about it!

those are all great venues, of course im partial to the royalton! although i do agree that if you are having a wedding over 200 it might be too small

From your list I've only visited the Westbury Manor, and that's the venue we picked. One of the reasons why we picked Westbury Manor was the fact that I don't have to worry about ceremony decorations (only centerpieces for the reception) and they decorate the place according to the season so that was a big plus for me. Other than that they are always helpfulwith any questions or concerns we have even when we haven't booked them yet and based on their showcase their food & service are great. HTH!

Re: Yay!!

I looked into Carlyle, and while I thought they offered quite a lot, it was very expensive! Actually, when all was said and done, the Bourne Mansion was only $5 more to have our wedding there. For May - Sept for a Saturday night, they quoted me at $195 per head, as well as a 22% service charge, tax, and $135 for each valet that is needed (4 valets per 100 people). The menu they offer is amazing, and I've heard nothing short of amazing of their food. The things that turned me off from the venue minus the price were the fact that golfers will still be present during our cocktail hour, there isn't enough sitting to fit all guest for cocktail hour inside (I was looking between 250-280 guests, there are 2 bumps on the dance floor due to having the possibility of electric there, and there was no bar available in the main dining area.

Good news is they are getting new chairs, and the grounds are gorgeous. I met with Elyse and she was very informative, but I just couldn't see myself spending that money with all the cons.

GOOD LUCK!!!

I recently got married at westbury manor. It was amazing! The place is beautiful, the food is amazing and the staff are beyond wonderful. They are truly professionals and know what they are doing! If you go with them you wont have to worry about a thing!
